Attendance

ABSENCES FROM SCHOOL

If a pupil is absent from school for any reason parents are requested to telephone the school between 0730 and 0815 to report that their child will not be attending school on that day.  Every parent has a responsibility to ensure that their child attends school regularly and to inform the school if their child cannot attend school.  It is a fact that pupils who miss school can be behind with their work and do not succeed as well in examinations.

The table below shows the effect of absence on Ysgol Ardudwy’s pupils who sat their exams in 2017 in the core subjects – grades A*- C in Welsh/English, Mathematics and Science. The results clearly show the positive effect of excellent attendance.
