ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING YEARS 7 – 9

 The reporting to parents is based on targets set each year.  The initial targets are set in Year 7 after taking into account the previous results of pupils as they transfer from the primary school, the Literacy tests given at the beginning of Year 7 in Ysgol Ardudwy, and the knowledge the staff have of pupils during the first few months of Year 7.  There will be a special meeting for Year 7 parents and pupils at the end of November when the targets will be presented.  There will then be reporting on the targets every half term with a full report in July. 

 At the start of Years 8 and 9 new targets will be set for that year.  An interim progress report, a one page summary, will be produced every half term with a more detailed full report with a page for each subject produced once a year.

 If pupil has made excellent progress and has reached the target before the end of the year a new target will be set at that time.

 A pupil should make progress which relates to at least half an attainment level each year.
